Biography

Born in Yorkshire and later settling in Derbyshire, my life took an unexpected turn that led me to reevaluate my path. Originally trained and employed as a dental hygienist, I found myself compelled to listen to the calling of my creative spirit. Art had always ignited a fire within me, so I made a life-changing decision to pursue my passion wholeheartedly.

Seeking to expand my artistic skills, I embarked on a transformative journey at the Cyprus College of Art from 2004 to 2007. Through dedicated study and a commitment to growth, I honed my craft and nurtured my artistic vision.

Working from my studio in Derbyshire, I pour my heart and soul into creating original artworks. Additionally, I undertake select commissioned projects, each one a unique opportunity to bring someone's vision to life. My work has been exhibited in both Cyprus and the UK, capturing the attention and admiration of art enthusiasts. Furthermore, my creations have found homes in private collections spanning the UK, USA, Europe, and Australia, resonating with individuals across the globe.

Embracing the digital era, my work currently enjoys presence in numerous web-based galleries, enabling a wider audience to connect with my artistic expressions. Moreover, for those seeking to own my art, original paintings and prints are readily available for purchase directly through my website.

Grateful for the opportunity to pursue my passion, I anticipate an ever-evolving odyssey in the captivating realm of art. With each brushstroke, I strive to capture the essence of my creative vision and express my deepest gratitude for following the path that resonates with my heart.

Artist’s Statement

Tracy-Ann is an expressive painter whose creative process revolves around intuitive color selection and the creation of marks on canvas or paper. This initial stage is her favorite, as it allows her to delve into her emotions and explore various feelings. Using brushes, rollers, and even twigs, Tracy-Ann embraces spontaneity and taps into her subconscious to make these marks, reacting to each stroke and color choice.

After some time, Tracy-Ann steps back from her work to observe what has emerged on the canvas or what seems to yearn for manifestation in the conscious realm. It might take the form of a landscape, floral arrangement, figurative composition, or it may choose to remain abstract—there is an element of surprise, as she never quite knows. She continues to engage with the painting, adding layers, scraping away, removing and obliterating sections, and responding to the most recent mark until the artwork itself communicates its completion.

Throughout this process, Tracy-Ann occasionally incorporates collage and texture mediums, which infuse the piece with an intriguing tactile quality. The interplay of color, pattern, and texture consistently finds its way into her art. Tracy-Ann embraces experimentation with mark making and engages in a dialogue with the evolving painting, granting it the freedom to become what it desires to be.
